Tired Out Tuesday!

Today I awoke to the ringing of an alarm and after 3 hits of the snooze button I decided it was time to get these lazy bones out of bed. Oh how I love the my weekends where I sleep in to a still way too early 6:30.   Then it was off to work where my students discovered the 8 different ways to fill a hexagon, how to write pattern stories that actually stick to a pattern and the effects of weather.  Oh....and we mixed a little reading in there as well.  And I as I slaved away at job where I tend to 21 needy little beings, many of which get little to no attention at home, and try to ensure they can all read, write and do many mathematic computations by the end of the year, I thought...what am I missing at home? I wonder if Travis and Drew are having fun on their field trip to the zoo? I wonder if Landon has taken his first step? Is he giggling away? What am I missing?
Don't get me wrong OPRAH! I love my job, work damn hard at it, and I deserve every penny I make. But will I regret being away from babies? Should I have settled for a tiny house, hand me down clothes and fewer dinners out? Will I regret not being there to pick my baby up at preschool everyday? How many firsts will Landon have, that I might miss? I guess there really isn't any going back now. I just hope that my babies know that although I might not have been there every second of their little lives, I never stop thinking about them, even at the most crazy times during the day.  I teach because I love it and work because I love my babies and want to give them the best.
A friend of mine once said, "It's not the quantity of time you spend with your kids, it's the quality." Therefore, to end my "Tired Tuesday", I spent the evening cuddling, being serenaded by Drew, building skyscrapers, chasing Landon and watching my boys be boys. Couldn't ask for anything more!
