We've been so busy in first grade. The students completed all sorts of Halloween activities, from creating and writing about their very own creature, to making a haunted house and describing everything they saw, heard and felt while there.

We also finally got our iPod touches and currently used them to record the student's reading. They listened to themselves read to see if they were reading fluently like a teacher or if they were a "robot reader".

Just recently my students took home a turkey and created a disguise for the turkey. They definitely don't want to be eaten for Thanksgiving dinner. We had some really creative turkeys. There were turkeys in surfer disguises, ninjas, football players, dog costumes and we even had an oral surgeon turkey.

And finally, we are learning about vegetables and how they grow. This Friday we are making vegetable soup! It's a busy, crazy life in first grade!
